Q1: What inspired you to choose your current career?

A1: After losing my job in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, I reset a started to look for a career I could grow within. AIG is one of the world leaders in insurance. I instantly jumped at the opportunity to join a well respected company. I will have been with AIG for almost 4 years.

Q2: What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day work?

A2:  Creating a “white glove” service to our insureds and brokers. Giving our clients a peace of mind when it comes to their insurance policies

Q3: How does your career contribute to your personal growth?

A3: The insurance world is constantly changing and it’s impossible to know everything. It’s up to you to use the resources available to you. Adapt and overcome.

Q4: What do you find most rewarding about your career?

A4: Assisting clients during a time of disaster is truly humbling. You do your best to be a bright light during such a difficult time. Most recently the hurricanes and flooding that devastated Florida, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. 

Q5: How do you maintain work-life balance in your career?

A5: Work can be stressful, but I make it a point not to carry over what happened yesterday into today. Live in the moment and enjoy the little things in life. This past year I have also made it a point to travel more. So far I have visited Greece, Virginia, Washington DC and Nevada. 

Q6: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

A6: Take risks and don’t be scared that you don’t know everything right away. When I joined AIG in 2021 I knew nothing about the insurance arena. With dedication and the willingness to put yourself out there to learn everything you can, there is no reason you can’t be successful.
